"Carry-Out" Carpentry: Outdoor Garden Boxes - $60

Want to get a garden box or flower bed started, but don't know where to start? We can help!

Join us virtually for a live, video class where we'll assemble some outdoor Cedar boxes together! We even provide the cedar wood and hardware!

This class is half seminar, half hands-on building. Using your "assembly-only" kit (which you will have picked up from the Rebuilding Center ahead of time--more on that below), our instructor will guide you through every step of the process: from how we've sourced your lumber, measuring/marking, and cutting. From there, we'll invite you to pick up your own tools and start assembly! (don't worry, you can also just watch. We'll record your class so you can view and assemble at a later date).

In addition to covering the basics of our popular Intro to Carpentry classes, this class features focussed learning with joining and assembling, flushing up your corners, bracing, and options for finishing. Finished boxes will be ~1-foot by 3-feet.

Presentation and assembly walk-though will begin promptly, followed by plenty of time for Q&A. A recording of our class will be emailed a few days later.

FAQ's: 

How do I pickup my "carry-out" kit? You will receive an email at least 2 business days before class, letting you know your kit is ready. You will then need to come to the Rebuilding Center shop where you may pick up your kit in a contact-less manner. Please remember to wear a mask upon arrival, and respect at least 6 feet of distance between yourself and others. 

How do I join this class online? Registrants will receive a link to a private Zoom webinar via email 24 hours before class begins. Please do not share your link with others.

What do I need to do/bring to virtual class? If you are using your own tools, have either a drill or impact driver, or a good hammer, ready. We'll provide your hardware. Please ensure that you have a good wifi connection and are set up in a quiet location. Students should also mute themselves and may also turn their camera off if they wish. Please note: your class may be recorded for future Rebuilding Center training or education.

How do I ask questions if I'm on mute? Please submit your questions through the "Chat" feature in your video call. Our instructor(s) will do their best to address each of them (time permitting).
